i never wanted to be an engineer but found myself doing mechanical
engineering at mnrec, allahabad after my intermediate. i could
not catch up with calculus and thermodynamics, but i learned one
big thing -not to get scared by technology. and this has helped me
all through my life. specially in trying out new things and
thinking of new ideas with technology intervention.
by
the time i got my engineering degree, i had decided that the hat
that fits me is that of a graphic designer.
to become a pro in
this field, i decided to pursue my master in design (visual
communication) from industrial design centre, iit, powai,
mumbai.
this helped me refine and learn new design skills but more
importantly, it taught me
how to pick up new ones. this may sound like a jargon, but my
world view definitely widened by the time i finished this two year
course.
and i think i should also talk about the school from where this
journey really started. it was birla vidya mandir at nainital.
girish sharmaji, our art teacher was the one who taught me the
basics of thinking and speaking visually. from freud to picasso,
he discussed it all and as a foundation of what i am doing, i must
say that the foundation was pretty strong. thank you sir! |
